The Grayson County Children's Advocacy Center provides Recognize-Resist-Report and Bullying Education programs for students Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade which are offered to the surrounding schools and organizations. P.S. It's My Body! - Pre-K through 2nd grade

  • All activities in the program are designed to reinforce the three R's (Recognize, Resist, Report) by integrating a variety of experiences to increase children's knowledge and skill retention
  • One adult will wear the Happy Bear costume during the presentation. The presentation for the elementary age is around 15-20 minutes.

Break the Silence - 3rd through 6th grade 

  • Four young children talk candidly about their abuse and their abusers as they describe how adults use fear, manipulation, and neglect to hurt children
  • Physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect are explained in a way young children can understand
  • As each story is told, animated versions of the child and the abuser help illustrate how the abuse happened and how it made the child feel. Each story ends happily, with the help of social workers, therapists, and foster families, these kids are receiving help and leading normal lives

Sticks and Stones - 7th through 12th grade​

  • A 40-minute video presentation on cyber bullying with some sexting
  • Main points include: the nature and consequences of bullying on the victim and bystanders, the dangers of sharing compromising photos online, the inappropriateness of hate speech, the ways online communications can lead to real world consequences
  • Addresses social problem solving, decision making, hate speech prevention, internet bullying and suicide, emotional coping, communication skills, dating issues prevention, risk perception, and decision making skills
